Mr Iles studied preclinical medicine at the University of St Andrews before completing his clinical training at the University of Manchester, graduating in 2002.

During his specialist training he undertook research at the Warrell Unit at St Mary’s Hospital, studying outcomes following severe childbirth-related pelvic floor injuries. This work led to the award of an MD from the University of Manchester.

He subsequently completed advanced subspecialty training in urogynaecology at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, one of the UK’s leading centres for pelvic floor surgery and urogynaecology.
